Reopen closed opportunity
A closed opportunity (Won or Lost) is reopened and returned to an active pipeline stage.
When this happens: You click Reopen on a closed Opportunity.
Step by step
- 1
Click Reopen on a closed Opportunity.
EasyCRM shows the Reopen dialog: Target Stage (dropdown, default: Negotiation) and Reason (required text, 10–500 chars).
- 2
Select target stage and enters reason. Clicks Reopen.
EasyCRM updates stage from Closed Won/Lost to the selected active stage. EasyCRM updates probability to the stage default. EasyCRM logs in Stage History: Reopened from [Closed Won/Lost] to [Stage]. Reason: [reason] Opportunity reappears in active pipeline views and Kanban board.
If something goes wrong
Contact lifecycle not reverted
If the opportunity was Closed Won and the Contact lifecycle was updated to Customer, reopening does NOT revert the lifecycle automatically. This is by design — the contact remains a Customer
Good to know
- SR requires SM approval to reopen. SM/ADM can reopen directly.
- Reopening requires a reason.
- Default target stage for reopen is "Negotiation" but you can select any active stage.
- Contact lifecycle is not automatically reverted when an opportunity is reopened.
