Admin changes user role

Admin changes a your assigned role, immediately affecting their permissions.

When this happens: Admin navigates to User Management — [User] — Edit — changes Role.

Step by step

    Open user detail in User Management and clicks Edit.

    EasyCRM shows the user edit form with current role selected.

    Changes the Role dropdown to a new role.

    Click Save.

    EasyCRM checks the role change. If new role = Sales Rep — checks that Reports To is set. EasyCRM updates the user's role in the database. If the new role enforces MFA and user has not enrolled — sets MfaEnforcePending flag. EasyCRM shows success message: User role updated to [Role].

Other paths

Role change requires MFA enrollment

If new role requires MFA but user hasn't enrolled. System sends in-app notification to you: Your role now requires MFA. You will be prompted to enroll on your next login

Downgrading from sales manager

If you are currently SM and has direct reports. EasyCRM shows a warning: This user manages [N] team member(s). Reassign them to another manager before changing the role, or their records may become inaccessible to the team Acknowledges and proceeds, or cancels to reassign first.

Missing reports to

If new role = SR but Reports To is empty. EasyCRM shows: Sales Reps require a reporting manager Role change blocked until addressed.

  • Role change is immediate — next API call uses new permissions.
  • Single role per user.
