Close opportunity — lost

An authorized user closes an Opportunity as "Closed Lost" with a mandatory loss reason.

When this happens: You select Closed Lost from stage dropdown or clicks Close Lost action.

Step by step

    Select Closed Lost or clicks Close Lost.

    EasyCRM shows the Loss Reason dialog: - Loss Reason (required dropdown): Price Too High, Chose Competitor, No Budget, No Decision / Stalled, Timing Not Right, Product Fit Issue, Relationship / Trust Issue, Other. - Loss Notes (optional text field).

    Select a reason. Optionally adds notes. Clicks Close.

    EasyCRM updates stage to Closed Lost, probability to 0%. EasyCRM records loss reason and notes. EasyCRM logs in Stage History: Closed Lost by [User]. Reason: [reason] Activity log: Opportunity closed as Lost. Reason: [reason] with result=Lost and lossReason.

Other paths

"Other" loss reason

Select Other from the dropdown. Loss Notes field becomes required. Must enter notes explaining the reason.

If something goes wrong

No loss reason provided

If you click Close without selecting a reason. EasyCRM shows: Loss reason is required Close is blocked.

Good to know

  • Loss reason is mandatory.
  • When "Other" is selected, the Loss Notes field becomes required.
  • Amount = $0 is allowed only for Closed Lost.
